As of July 8, 2023, there are 149 cities in the Philippines. Among these, thirty-three are highly urbanized cities (HUC), five are independent component cities (ICC), and the rest are component cities (CC) of their respective provinces.
According to the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Davao City holds the distinction of being the largest city in the Philippines, boasting a total land area of 2,341.43 square kilometers. Following closely behind is Puerto Princesa, the capital city of Palawan, with a substantial land area of 2,168.62 square kilometers.
